LAFAYETTE — Thomas V. Hankins, 93, Lafayette, formerly of rural Veedersburg, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 in Regency Place Nursing Home, Lafayette. He was born May 19, 1912 in Fountain County, the son of Thomas Everett and Lucy L. Royce Hankins. His first marriage was to Estella Kathleen Allen in 1934 in Parke County. They were divorced. His second marriage was to Mildred Runyan Little in 1948. She preceded in death in 1989. His third marriage was to Doris Linker in 1990. She preceded in death in 1993. He worked in the Fountain County area as a coal miner, railroader, fireman on the W.P.A., Dupont making firebombs and RDX during the war and Neal Gravel Pit. After retiring he spent time raising vegetables and selling his produce. He was a 50 year member of the Yeddo Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include: a daughter, Sharon K. (Dean) Driscol Allen, Kingman; a step daughter, Nancy Craft, Florida; a step son, David Little, Cloverdale; two grandsons, Joseph E. Driscol, Linden and Timothy Clark (Tera) Driscol, Lafayette; two great-granddaughters, Kylee and Abigail; seven step grandsons; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hoagland, and a brother, Herbert Hankins. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Ruth Isaacs officiating. Burial was in Coopers Cemetery, Veedersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Coopers Cemetery or the Yeddo F. & A.M. Lodge. – jlr
